I think that the Captains of the Vending Industry were still thinking in terms of 1962 when in fact it was 1982. In general the vending industry really took it's early salvo of Customer disapproval in the 1970's. Sandwich quality was lacking, coffee like motor oil,and chocolate or junk food your only other choice. Manufacturer vanishing at a record clip, microwaves, and higher quality coffee services slipped in through the backdoor. The era of "Add a machine and they will come was over". The target customer had changed both in person and flavor profile. In fact as I think about it still I would venture to say back in 1962 you would have a very very daunting task to find one person that would say it was the greatest sandwich they had ever eaten or impossible to find some enchanted by the aroma of fresh vended coffee, even with the cheese machine graphic depicting this mythical experience. No one looked beyond the numbers, or the changing market conditions. The good thing is we have a chance, an obligation in fact to meet the demands of those ever changing customer needs and make a big profit from it. I have some ideas, you have ideas, who's listening. The year is 2028, vending machines are an engaging event, are we there yet. Most of the data I review suggests we are still in 1985, climb aboard to another shore!

When are we going to see vending machines that can make food from scratch.

When will a vending machine that makes a fresh hot pizza be on the market?

Not a reheated frozen pizza that has never worked since a mircowave it a wonderful tool to reheat it is not exact and the item is either still frozen or melted and from time to time it is OK.

I saw the Kraft machine that sells frozen items like a Toumbstone slice but it was terrible and I have tried it over the years.

Saw an Italian FAILED VENTURE that came into the USA two years ago but failed? Do not know why but again another frozen/reheat the pizza type machine.

Going back to my first question is there going to be an automated fresh food machine on the market soon?

Any comments appreciated
