Pediatric Nutritionist Argues School Snack Guidelines Won't Solve Obesity Problem

Keith-Thomas Ayoob, associate professor, pediatrics department at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, N.Y, argues New Institute of Medicine recommendations about vending machine and other snack food in schools is not going to solve the obesity epidemic, according to ABC News Internet Ventures. Ayoob said physical education back in grade schools and what goes on at home will be key. Besides the six hours a day children are at school, parents need to take responsibility for money given to children for buying junk food and home eating environment.
