Loss Prevention Firm Nabs Security Guard For Theft At Mid Atlantic Vending Company

Loss Prevention Results Inc. (LPR), a Wake Forest, N.C.-based security and investigation firm serving the vending and foodservice industries, recently discovered that a former technician who was employed as a security guard was stealing money from a vending/foodservice firm in the Mid Atlantic region. The individual has been arrested and is awaiting trial.

A surveillance video camera installed in a changer in a cafeteria video taped the former technician, who had been terminated three months earlier, stealing $100 out of the changer during plant shut down during the July 4 holiday. The former technician was an armed uniformed security guard working at the plant.

A month before the scheduled assessment, LPR advised the company to purchase a "Vending/Cam" as chronic machine and changer cash shortages in one branch were over $4,000 in two months.
